Registered Nurse, Nursing Rotation (AHeart)

City/State Norfolk, VA Overview Work Shift Rotating (United States of America) Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking new graduate RN's to be a part of the Surgical Specialty - Adult Health Rotation Team. Position is full-time/rotating shifts All Surgical units at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital participate in the Adult Health Rotation "AHeart" program. As a new nurse you will rotate Surgical Specialty units throughout the program. The units will include General Surgical Unit, Stoke Unit Med/surg, Inpatient Rehab Unit, Medicine Unit, and Burn Trauma IMC - Med/Surg mixed unit. As a new grad you will be oriented successfully to work in each of these units. The Adult Surgical Specialty Rotation will give you a solid medical/surgical foundation and it will also train you to practice at a step-down level of care. During your second year of the program, you may choose to join a med/surg unit that you have grown to love, be considered for a specialty unit or one of our internship programs. If you have a continuing interest in unit rotation you may also join the Sentara Resource Pool after 18 months in this program. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
