Department Overview Doernbecher 9N pediatric nurses provide high-quality innovative and compassionate family-centered care for pediatric patients ages newborn to 18 years. Services that admit to Doernbecher 9N include and not limited to General Surgery, ENT, Urology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, and Endocrinology. Function/Duties of Position Up to $12,000 Hiring Bonus and Relocation Package Available. Must begin work by July 1, 2024 to qualify. BSN rates $49.16-$78.18 per hour, based on education and experience ADN and MSN rates also available. The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN's care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, and knowledge transferor [Onsomble Model of the Professional Role]. Required Qualifications * External applicants: Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Degree from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) * Internal ONA applicants: Associate's Degree in Nursing * Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License * BLS and PALS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA (upload documentation with online application) * BLS and PALS must not expire during orientation or probation period, and must have the same expiration date (upload documentation with online application) * Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation * Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English. * Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools * A minimum score of 11/18 on the OHSU Nurse Interview Evaluation Tool * Successful completion of unit orientation Preferred Qualifications * 2 years inpatient pediatric RN experience * Pediatric psychiatric experience preferred * CPN certification or other applicable pediatric specialty certification * Quality Matching * Self-reflective, self-directed learner who achieves progressive growth * Identify gaps in knowledge and initiate seeking resources to identify and manage risks and practice safely with a wide variety of patient populations * Able to advance plan of care * Excellent time management * Integrate into a high functioning and collaborative team: * Speaking up about assignments, troubleshooting alternatives * Inquiring about performance improvement changes * Actively participating in huddles, quality improvement, and team building * Speaking up and advocating for patient safety, communication, and best practices Additional Details Usual Orientation Time: * New graduate: 12 weeks * Specialty Experience: 4-6 weeks * Experience, not in specialty area 6-8 weeks * Bonus Disclaimer: current OHSU, Adventist and Hillsboro Medical Center employees are not eligible There are no positions available at this time, but more will be coming soon. #AccBacc #FutureOHSURN All are welcome Oregon Health & Science University values a diverse and culturally competent workforce.
