Summary Paid Student Nurse Extern I | Med/Surg Our student Nurse Extern position provides the opportunity to gain supervised, hands-on working experience while still in nursing school. Nurse Externs gain valuable experience to help them prepare for careers as members of the medical community tasked with providing high-quality care to patients. Nurse Extern I Overview: Nurse Extern I: * Candidate MUST be actively enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program AND * Candidate MUST successfully completed at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation before Nurse Extern I offer can be extended. * Nurse Extern I performs or assists with patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Student must have successfully completed at least one clinical rotation. Experience Successfully completed at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
