A $5,000 hiring bonus is being offered for this position. Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0. * $1,250 will be awarded in the first paycheck. * $1,750 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations". * $2,000 will be awarded upon completion of the employee's one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations". The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a talented and motivated Registered Nurses with experience working in an outpatient or inpatient behavioral health setting for our Adult Outpatient Services program. Responsibilities: * Provide nursing services to adults with mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders who are receiving medication management services in an outpatient setting to include ongoing assessments, crisis intervention, medication education and management. * Provide nursing services to other Behavioral Health programs as assigned. * Perform nursing duties to include, but not limited to, preparation for prescriber visits, administration of oral and injectable medications, vital signs, ordering and packaging medications, and providing education/counseling regarding medications and relevant nursing domains. * Collaborate with internal and external care providers with valid authorization to release information to provide the highest level of safe, efficient, and effective service delivery. * Collaborate with primary care providers for continuity of care and link clients without a primary care provider to a resource to obtain medical care. * Ensure medical records are requested and reviewed at least annually and more often for individuals with complex and/or changing medical conditions. * Consistently demonstrates exceptional teamwork with all disciplines and promotes a positive, respectful, and adaptive work environment to ensure that quality services are provided. * Complete documentation as directed by supervisor and in accordance with the Documentation and Clinical Standards Manual including medications prepared for client, injections administered to client, primary care screening (blood pressure, pulse, weight, BMI, waist circumference, etc.). * Update clients' allergies and medical problems in the CHR at every encounter and any time new information is obtained. * When assigned as the primary staff (Lead Assignment Server or LAS, develops an individualized Treatment Plan with clients that have measurable goals and objectives. * Contribute to the Treatment Plans of assigned clients; completes documentation regarding the Medication Management interventions in the Treatment Plan; completes other required assessments. * Collect and documents urine drug screens and breathalyzers as directed by the prescriber, ensuring that all filing of clinical information and submission of billing information is done accurately and within the required timeframe. * Enter specific laboratory orders in the appropriate domain including the CHR, the reference lab portal, or on paper laboratory requisition forms when laboratory tests are ordered and ensures laboratory test results are signed by prescriber prior to being filed in the medical record.
