Position Summary The REGISTERED NURSE (RN) delivers care to residents ensuring all applicable laws, regulations and Company standards are met. Essential Functions * Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in a long-term care facility. * Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel. * Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Wellness department. * Evaluate resident's needs through ongoing assessment and revises care plan based on changes in resident's condition. * Provide clinical supervision to LPN's, CNAs and/or Personal Care Aides. * Chart appropriately and in a timely manner. * Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team. * Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in residents' conditions, including diet and physical activity. * Interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess resident's condition. * Instruct individuals, families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs. * Prepare residents for, and assist with, examinations and treatments. * Have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly. * Help with all aspects and document requirements of the community QA program including monthly audits of resident wellness instructions for accuracy and implementation. Qualifications * Possess a nursing diploma, AS or BS degree in nursing. * Six months to one year of related experience. * Must be currently registered/licensed with applicable state. * Current valid documentation of successful completion of the "American Red Cross" or American Heart Association" CPR/First Aid Certification for Health Care Providers (BLS). * Must possess a valid driver's license as some travel may be required. * Meet all health requirements including TB including all required immunizations.
