Registered Nurse Float FT Day/Eve

Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, JOB SUMMARY: Demonstrates the knowledge and judgment needed to utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate each patient's nursing care. Demonstrates respect for the rights of all patients and provides considerate, respectful care focused on each patient's individual needs. Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees. Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for his/her own work performance. Demonstrates the ability to assess, treat and care for the unique needs of oncology and orthopedic patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Licensure/Registration/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS certification for health care provider ; ACLS preferred Work Experience: 1 year minimum nursing experience in acute care setting. Completes probationary period with satisfactory evaluation. Physical & Other Factors: On feet most of the day. Frequent lifting, stretching and other physical exertion during positioning of patients and moving equipment. Work & Environmental Conditions: Exposed to patients' conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells and contagious diseases. Job Relationships (Responsible to/for, works with): Responsible to the Director. Responsible for Licensed Practical Nurse and/or Ancillary personnel assigned to him/her. Works effectively with members of the health care team, administrative personnel, and maintains a cooperative working relationship intra-departmentally and inter-departmentally.
