The Oncology Nurse Navigator functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team of care providers who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The Navigator is responsible for coordinating the interdisciplinary team of providers to best serve the newly diagnosed cancer patient. This process includes assessment, education, and continuity of care for the patient and family. In collaboration with the Medical Director of Cancer Services, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and appropriate specialists, coordinates patient services and outreach components of the program. This includes monitoring patients through screening programs and following patients diagnosed through their cancer treatment and survivorship. Graduate of School of Nursing, Bachelor's in nursing required. Experience: Five or more years of experience as an RN in a Health Care setting. Oncology nursing experience preferred. * Current Connecticut RN license required. * BLS Certification required. * Oncology Nursing Certification preferred. * Possesses the skills to effectively communicate, problem-solve, and maintain productive and effective interpersonal relationships while effectively prioritizing. * Has the flexibility to adapt to new and changing situations. * Has the ability to think critically. * Able to give constructive feedback, supervises and teams with others, teaches staff and patients. * Possess basic computer skills.

Pay

Average Connecticut Staff Position Pay

$41.89/hour
