City/State Norfolk, VA Overview Work Shift First (Days) (United States of America) Sentara Heart Hospital located on the Campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to work with our Heart Arrhythmia Center! $15,000 sign on bonus and relocation assistance available for qualified candidates Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is one of just five Level 1 trauma centers in Virginia, home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and the region's first Magnet hospital and nationally ranked heart program at the Sentara Heart Hospital. The hospital sits on the Eastern Virginia Medical Campus which serves as the primary teaching institution. Sentara Norfolk General and the Heart Hospital offers Transplant Services: Heart, Kidney, and Pancreas. We are a Certified Stroke Center and the only Level 3 Epilepsy Center in the area. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital was named the Best Hospital for Cardiac Care in Virginia by Healthgrades. The Sentara Heart Hospital, a 112-bed care facility, is #2 for Cardiology services and Heart Surgery in the State of Virginia and ranks #24 in the nation for best heart programs. The Arrhythmia Center Registered Nurse will work in an outpatient clinic setting. Shift: 4 nine-hour days, 7am to 4:30pm, to include the possibility of weekend day call rotation. Orientation/training will be Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm. The Clinic is located on the 1st floor of the Sentara Heart Hospital. Registered Nurse will work with patients who have a Pacemaker or Defibrillator and will provide Device Management. RN will work closely with the MRI staff. Registered Nurse provides patient care, programs device, monitors heart rhythms, and sees that patients are safe while having MRIs. Good epic documentation experience required. Cardiac Device experience ideal but will consider a RN with Post Op Care, Cardiac, or ICU experience combined with good cardiac rhythm interpretation experience. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Education/Certification/Licensure: Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor's degree RN, or master's degree RN. BLS and ACLS are required. RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.
