# Adults and older adults recovering from cardiothoracic and/or cardiovascular surgery and patients suffering coronary artery disease and other cardiac problems. Identifies stages of human growth and development and uses this information to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served. Identifies the psychology of developmental stages and uses this information to provide age appropriate care which fosters growth. Utilizes communication skills appropriate to the age, developmental stage, and literacy level of patients served. Recognizes and reports suspected cases of child/elder abuse in accordance with applicable statutes. Identifies the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease and uses this information to plan appropriate nursing care.
