We have a great opportunity for a Full-time Child/Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to work at various locations within Health Solutions. What You'll Be Doing As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with the Health Solutions, you would be providing strength-focused, evidence-based and culturally-sensitive treatment to clients of varying ages in a fast-paced mental healthcare and substance use disorder - practice. Creating and sustaining positive, compassionate interactions with clients and providing high quality care will be central to the work you do. You would conduct assessments and provide medication management with utmost kindness. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be important to your responsibilities related to evaluating and managing medications. Furthermore, you'd have the distinct opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Health Solutions professionals to serve our community. Specifically, the Nurse Practitioner's responsibilities under the administrative supervision of the Director of Prescribers and Nurses include the following areas: Administrative/Clinical Duties: * Maintains accurate and current records with 100 percent compliance with Health Solutions' standards; * Participate in Health Solutions Internship Program by providing aspiring behavioral health providers with a robust clinical experience * Performs psychiatric face-to-face assessments for children and adults using format(s) established by Health Solutions. All assessments will include, at a minimum, psychiatric history, medication history, mental status examination, psychiatric formulation, diagnosis in current DSM format and a written plan of treatment; * Manages acute and chronic psychiatric conditions for children, adolescents, and adults; * Manages medication follow-up for a full caseload of clients; * Uses electronic health records and electronic prescribing accurately and facilely to promote patient care; * Provides as-needed emergency assessment, consultation, and medication prescribing; * Consults with other health care providers about relevant psychiatric/medical services and issues, and assists in coordination of community-based services for attended clients; * Collaborates with professional colleagues, including physicians, nurses and clinicians as required by Colorado Statutes related to professional collaborative relationships; * Provides active involvement in and completion of required quality assessment activities as required of all equivalent providers; * Attends and participates in scheduled clinical and administrative meetings, and accepts assignment to applicable committees; * Practices as defined in applicable Colorado statue, the scope of prescriptive authority for prescription drugs and controlled substances shall be limited to those patients within the incumbent's area of practice, training, and expertise; * Assist with after hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage of the Acute Treatment Unit; and * Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical and Administrative leadership within the department. Also, Wellness benefits program available. * HS Funded: EAP, Teladoc, LifeLock, Direct Path, Life and AD&D, LTD * Retirement 403(b) with employer match up to 6% * Additional Insurance: FSA, Voluntary Life, Allstate Voluntary benefits, and pet insurance * Childcare * Flexible schedule * Employee recognition and celebrations * Warm and friendly work environment in which staff respect and learn from one another * Meaningful work with opportunities to serve our neighbors in Pueblo, Las Animas, and Huerfano Counties Qualifications What We're Looking For-The Must-Haves * Graduate degree from an accredited college or university in nursing from an accredited academic institution; * Current license as a PMHNP or CNS in Colorado, in good standing; * Prescriptive authority as defined by applicable state statute; * Two years experience within the normal scope of psychiatric practice; * Advanced knowledge of the principles of psychiatric nursing; * Advanced knowledge of medication/medication and medication/food interactions; * Advanced knowledge and experience in psychiatric assessment and ongoing psychopharmacological treatment; * Ability to obtain DATA 2000 waiver within 6 months of hire; * Current Colorado driver's license; * Access to reliable transportation during work hours; * Computer proficiency. What We'd Like to See in You-The Nice-to-Haves * Experience caring for adults and children with addictions, and severe and persistent mental illness; * Track record of working successfully as a part of a multidisciplinary team; * Experience in managed care environments; * Spanish language skills.
