Title: Registered Nurse Coordinator : Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women State Role Title: Registered Nurse Manager I Hiring Range: $97,461 - $121,998 Pay Band: 5 Agency: Dept of Corr - Central Admin Location: Fluvanna Correctional Center Agency Website: https://www.vadoc.virginia.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties $7,500 Sign-on bonus or up to $10,000 student loan repayment may be available for eligible new hires Provides quality professional health care to inmates and assist employees during emergency events. Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation. Provides direction and supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, CNAs, Medics, Registered Nurses and RNCAs and RNCBs. Focused on carrying out and aligning staff with the mission of the medical unit, the facility and the Department of Corrections. Serves as a liaison between Operations at the institution and the Health Services Unit. Responsible for the continuous operation of medical services at the institution. Supervises multiple facilities, clinics and/or specialty sites. Develops methods for solving clinical problems to prevent and /or minimize any crisis for assigned housing units. Collaborates with the Healthcare Program Manager in planning, innovation, and evaluation of activities. Evaluates and manages administrative issues related to nursing care and assist the Healthcare Program Manager by handling key administrative duties (e.g. organizing and attending meetings). Oversees the budget and tracking expenditures (supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, nurse contractors, etc.). Responsible for ensuring standards of clinical care, the attainment of nursing goals, and deliverables for the overall nursing care at the facility. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department. Minimum Qualifications Graduated from an accredited Registered Nursing program Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing (or other states participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact) Possess a Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required upon hire Experience as a Supervisory Nurse/Nurse Manager Progressive responsibility demonstrated, such as charge nurse, leading clinical projects, or precepting new hires or nursing students Experience with monitoring staff performance, including the disciplinary process, and conducting evaluations Experience managing and leading a department of nurses Ability to provide guidance and assign responsibility to subordinate staff in accordance with licensure Additional Considerations Experience in an acute care setting Experience in Correctional Nursing Special Instructions You will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
