Summary Now offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for Medical Office Specialist new hires! Effective January 1, 2024 and expires March 31, 2024. Applicable only for MOS positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to. Responsibilities The Medical Assistant II demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served by their department. This position assists the MD/NP/PA in perfoming procedures. Operates, maintains and calibrates all equipment. Casting, suture removal, splints and dressing changes. Requirements EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE * Education and Work Experience: * High School Diploma or GED * A minimum of three years experience as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic or Military Medic experience. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS * License Requirements: * N/A * Certification Requirements: * Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred * CPR certification preferred * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel * Microsoft Outlook * Meditech (if applicable to position) * Epic (if applicable to position) * Performance Manager/NetLearning * Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: * Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. * Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. * Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. * Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. * Other Requirements: * May be required to travel to satellite offices #LI-KZ1 Mercy Health Services is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy.
