I was at Aspirus during the Delta wave peak and in the COVID-ICU. Almost all staff were travelers, which was great. When Delta started to die down, we were sent all over the hospital and taken advantage of. The staff and facility were not kind to us. The other ICU nurses rarely spoke to us and didn't help with our patients. I would take an assignment there again because they are consistently so desperate for help that they pay one of the highest rates in the state and Wausau isn't a terrible part of Wisconsin to be in (albeit a bit methy).

4:1 with heavy patients (trach, total care, withdrawal, cardiac drips) with little to no assistance due to PCA not scheduled or they are sitting 1:1 on a patient. Assignment are spread out, you’ll have one patient down one hallway and other patients in another hallway. 
There was no parameters on which patients are appropriate for the unit.
