Floating almost daily. Teamwork in ICU is strong but poor on ancillary units.

charge nurse were usually spread thin to two or three floors each shift. often without aides. always flexed up to 5 patients. The staff helped when they could but ultimately everyone was on the struggle bus. They send email threats when you don't clock out for their mandatory lunch breaks. But no one ever really gets a lunch, because most are charting through it or running around taking care of patients during their 30 minute clock out.

they'd rather short staff everyone everywhere than let travelers get OT

Majority of the staff make travelers scan and do all patient care. Their attitude is that travelers get paid more they should do more work. There are some techs I worked with for 12 hour shifts for 13 weeks and never actually saw them scan a patient. Techs there are very “cliquey” like high school girls, it’s very unprofessional.
