Banner Gateway is a very nice, smaller facility that primarily deals with Cancer patients. As a traveler I was floated 2 out of 3 shifts in a week from the ICU usually to Step down. Triples were not uncommon in the unit, but it is fairly small so not all the time. Taking 5 patients in the step down unit was basically the standard.  From discussion with other nurses I’ve determined that my experience was not out of the ordinary and that Banner as a whole is fairly hard on all staff and travelers. That being said the nurses are all nice and helpful and the location is wonderful. Gilbert is great on its own and it’s a short trip to Phoenix.

Hard on Staff and Travelers

Doesnt exactly follow EBP. Doctors do not give a shit about pts, staff or even each other. There is no communication (or real "rounding"), docs may not actually lay eyes on a pt and copy paste inaccurate notes. Then get "shocked" why we have to call a rapid to get a doc actually at the bedside. Stronger independent RNs will do fine.
