This nurse works within the procedure rooms, facilitating and assisting a diverse mix of procedures including dental restorations and extractions, botulinum toxin injections, lumbar punctures, PICC line placement, and other minor tests and procedures. The program serves children who require sedation or anesthesia, with a special focus on children with developmental, behavioral, and medical complexity, including oncology patients. This program will be available for solid organ transplant patients in the Pediatric Transplant Center (PTC) who are MassHealth members under 21 years old who meet the medical necessity criteria. This RN will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and oversight of the coordination for Boston Children’s Hospital CARES for Kids Program within the PTC. The RN will serve as the clinical expert and strategic resource to get eligible transplant patients enrolled in the program, work with the centralized CARES program at BCH and coordinate with patients and families.
