Not a bad travel assignment. CVU PCU Post ICU (whatever stepdown units they have) 1:3 most times, 1:4 once a week. Honestly more EtOH than anything else. Covid rates were great, not sure about now. Only annoyance were rolling those COWs around and something weird with heart monitors. They have vascular access team and phlebotomy. EPIC status. Their friendly just cliquey, I stayed to myself and did fine. More travelers than staff. It’s doable.

You’ll have to get used to the area and the culture. Very low health literacy in this area. Coworkers are hit or miss. If you mind your business, don’t tell your business and you’ll be fine. You’ll have phleb team, iv team, respiratory does the breathing treatments. Depending on the unit your leadership will make or break your experience. Diff rules for diff units. 1:6 med Surg 1:5 pcu icu usually doubled if I’m not mistaken.

I worked here on contract as a travel nurse for approx 2 yrs. I can say that it is one of the most well supplied hospitals I’ve ever worked. The staff treats you well, and I seldom floated. They don’t treat travelers bad at all.
