Really enjoyed this position. Great team. As with many places, ratios became a problem. They were really good for the first 4 months, then management tried to get RNs to do 1:6-7. I refused more than 1:5, especially the day they tried to add a vented patient to my load.

Unit is traveler friendly, work as a team overnights 1:3-4 ratios, 90% MedSurg 10% OB
Cons
Managers became petty when deciding not to renew. Director of floor not knowledgeable on basic nursing care of OB department. Be prepared to work with many untrained baby nurses
