This was a very nice first assignment for me, 4:1 ratio (unless you’re in psych then it can be up to 8) and management was actually really nice. A few scheduling conflicts but they were sorted out quickly. There were a lot of other travelers that had your back, and a few staff nurses that were so nice. It was really tough to get your full 36 hours in for some reason and you were flexed home a decent amount but that’s my only complaint. Definitely a great assignment to dip your toe in the world of travel nursing

Duke Regional was a great place to learn an grow with a little bit of every specialty. The staff was amazing and always helpful. I will definitely return if they needed help

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract supporting a high-volume surgical program with multi-specialty cases and advanced robotic technology.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work setting is a hospital Operating Room department</li><li>Multi-specialty surgical caseload including neurology, orthopedics, general, bariatric, urology, GYN, vascular, robotic, plastics, ENT, oral, dental, and podiatry procedures</li><li>Advanced equipment in use includes the Intuitive DaVinci XI, Cori Orthopedic Robot, Stryker Video Tower, Olympus Endoscopy Tower, Neptune, electrosurgical units, smoke-free cautery devices, Globus, and tourniquet systems</li><li>Preferred EMR experience: Epic</li><li>Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with rotating days off (no set or consecutive days off)</li><li>On-call required approximately 2–3 days per month</li><li>Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed</li><li>Scrubs are provided by the facility</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are accepted</li><li>Orientations are held bi-weekly</li><li>Flu vaccine is required with no exemptions or declinations accepted</li></ul>
