<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 8, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level II NICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring prior travel and NICU experience.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Level II NICU setting within a hospital environment</li><li>Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30</li><li>Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3</li><li>Cares for neonates across gestational ages, including &lt;24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and &gt;34 weeks</li><li>Floating to Baby Nurse unit as needed</li><li>Attends high-risk deliveries</li><li>Uses Epic charting system</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active NJ or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration</li><li>Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience preferred</li><li>Prior travel nursing experience required</li><li>Certifications required: BLS, NRP or NRP Advanced</li><li>STABLE certification preferred</li><li>Epic charting experience preferred</li><li>Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care</li><li>Experience with UAC/UVC placement and management</li><li>Proficient in neonatal medication administration, including anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, steroids, and surfactants</li><li>Knowledge of respiratory support including bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)</li><li>Experience with phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, and insulin administration</li><li>Skilled in APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and developmental care</li><li>Experience managing neonatal sepsis and infectious disease precautions</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Responsibilities include high-risk delivery attendance, neonatal resuscitation, and family-centered developmental care</li><li>Provides care for conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and seizure disorders</li><li>Assists with procedures including lumbar puncture and chest tube management</li><li>Supports breastfeeding and manages various feeding methods including gavage and nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes</li><li>Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position</li><li>Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler</li><li>All requested RTO must be submitted prior to consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation</li><li>Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position</li></ul>
