<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Oct 26, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift acute care position requiring 5+ years of experience and multiple life support certifications.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Acute care setting covering inpatient and ER units</li><li>Patient population includes adults, pediatrics, and newborns down to 32 weeks (no newborn ventilator management)</li><li>Common conditions treated include COPD, asthma, and a small number of trach patients</li><li>Typical caseload of 15-20 treatments per therapist per day</li><li>Uses MEDITECH as the charting system</li><li>Equipment used includes Bipap, Cpap, High Flow, ventilators, and trachs</li><li>3x12-hour night shifts per week, scheduled 1800-0630</li><li>Weekend requirement of every 4th Sunday</li><li>Required to work Christmas night and New Year's Day night</li><li>One on-call shift assigned per week with a two-hour call-back expectation</li><li>Required to float and work across all units</li><li>Always paired with at least one other therapist on shift</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Minimum 5 years of respiratory therapy experience required</li><li>CRT or RRT certification accepted via NBRC</li><li>BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required</li><li>Experience with bubble CPAP required</li><li>Experience assisting with C-section deliveries required</li><li>Experience with oxygen setup for patient discharge required</li><li>Only required to assist with intubation, not perform independently</li><li>License required if applicable</li><li>First-time travelers will be considered</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Daily duties include nebulizer treatments, 6-minute walk tests, ABGs, overnight oximetry trends, C-section support, surfactant delivery, and bubble CPAP management</li><li>Department manager available Monday-Friday 7am-3pm and reachable by phone anytime</li><li>Department-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts</li><li>Travelers are required to work holidays and will be included in the holiday rotation with permanent staff</li><li>Scrub color may be any color except blue</li><li>Candidates who worked in a permanent capacity at the facility within the last 6 months will not be considered</li></ul>
