Ratios on PCU are fine. Not enough support staff on nights but techs are still great. Not much overtime. So if you’re from out of town just fyi there is not much to do. Supervisor is good at getting back with questions quick. Majority of nurses are good to get along with. Not enough snacks for patients. No evs available at night.

Worked a couple of contracts at Hays Med. Training is important to them and helpful to an incoming nurse. The staff is fantastic and supportive. Made a lot of good friends out there. I really liked the physicians that I worked with. The town has plenty of good places to eat and there is enough to do on days off. Rates dropped so never re-signed however may consider in the future. The work on med surge is fine but there are times that the beds barely cool off and the post ops keep coming to warm them back up. This makes for crowded shift. Overall, very good experience at Hays.

Management doesn’t not appreciate travelers. Was constantly trying to schedule outside of contract, and even tried to not pay overtime. The entire hospital is full of staff employees that are miserable at their jobs due to lacking from management.
