You’ll love it if you want psych patients attacking you, PCT’s and sitters. It’s a fun game if you want to have PTSD. Favoritism is a thing- management is a joke unless you hang out and drink with them on the weekends. They tell you 1:4 ratios but will move your patients to hallway rooms and give you up to 1:6 even if you have a 1 to 1 ICU patient with 2-5 min titrating drips. You don’t get to eat, barely get to pee  and your mental health will decline with a vengeance.

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active IA or compact RN license and prior Med/Surg experience.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a 24-bed Med/Surg unit with a patient ratio of 4-5:1</li><li>Patient population includes general Med/Surg cases and post-op orthopedic patients such as surgical hips and knees</li><li>Uses remote telemetry tech unit monitoring and manages heparin drips</li><li>Epic EMR is utilized on the unit</li><li>Travelers may be required to float across multiple campuses</li><li>First-time travelers are welcome to apply</li><li>Navy blue solid scrubs are required</li><li>Holiday coverage is required for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)</li><li>Only one day of requested time off is permitted during peak holiday periods</li><li>Position may require floating to different campuses as needed</li><li>Must provide a recent supervisory reference from within the last 2 years</li><li>Returning travelers must not have been employed by the client within the past 12 months</li></ul>
