I was there on a travel assignment where my contract, along with others, were abruptly cancelled. Aside from that, the work environment was nice. I appreciated the welcoming staff and the safe ratios. For the unit I was on, I appreciated that they had a well-stocked nourishment room for the patients. That has been the best I've seen yet!

Its a friendly culture but just to let you know they have 8 hours shift so you'd end up being sent to another unit after 4 hours and it's a norm they do to travelers working 12 hrs shifts

Day shift staff are much friendlier (and older) than night shift staff. Very clicky- high school-like.  Well organized, and clean. They use a portal system for the ED. 1:4 California-mandated ratios are followed. Lunch breaks are 1 hour (half paid to incorporate the two 15-minute breaks per law per 8 hours of work). Wonderful security who monitor you're 1:1 (all psych) and they have techs!!! Kaiser is picky with some documentation requirements (no worse than some other hospital chains). High accuity and census for the 39 bed department.
