I went to KWLA for my first travel gig. I was compensated well, but the facility had an awful culture. Lots of power trippers, poor management, and disrespect from leadership. My first day on the floor, the head of patient experience berated me in front of everyone, for what should have been a teachable moment; I had been discharging a patient in the way my prior facility did things, not the “Kaiser way” and she let me have it. Fortunately, there were a few excellent staff members who made the experience better, and my direct leadership was much more pleasant to work for.

I was there for a ICU Covid crisis assignment and literally floated to other floors 90% of the time. Also management was not very supportive of their travelers at all.

Some people were great to work with, others had no interest in team work and they were the ones with power as charge and would trash you to management. In pediatrics specifically. Over all wasn’t the worst assignment they trained me in NICU which was cool PICU was what I was hired for and I was floated to peds often for the first 3/4th of my assignment. Schedule was flexible which was nice

Very rude CNO name Glen. You have to recite the Kp smile at the end of your shift with long lines but not paid. They want you to stick with 730 even if youre basically over time most of time. This facility should be audited by department of labor.

Definitely not a place I would recommend to work for numerous reasons. The work climate amongst staff is definitely not favorable and management if there is any is not supportive or consistent and some are extremely rude and unprofessional especially on the step down unit. I was on a different unit which is one of the critical care floors and there was very scary mistakes being made that were or could have been extremely detrimental. Not a place I would recommend anybody I know personally to work. Definitely not good for travelers.

After being a nurse for nearly 20 years I can say this is the worst place I’ve been employed. Upper mgmt does not care how unsafe the working conditions are including the health of their nurses, the patient load is so heavy, the aides only take vital signs which take them all shift, their documentation requirements are a joke, there’s never any supplies, etc etc etc.  I stayed 17 hours to take care of a patient because they didn’t have a nurse and he needed upgraded.  I was suppose to go back that night 5 hours later for my shift (after I finished documenting and was able to leave). They told me I wasn’t able to be taken off the schedule instead it would be an unexcused absence and I had to call off…….  So I called off.   I wouldn’t care if they’re giving 5x the salary I would never go back there. Charge nurses fill out mountains of report papers every shift and are not a resource. There are a few good ones that are giving it their all though.
