Worked on contract during Covid relief and it was wonderful. I'm from the south and temporarily living and working in that area, reminded me of being home. The nurses were so nice and helpful - unlike some where I've showed up to work and I would recommend them for their professionalism, wonderful treatment of patients and expedient response to those that come to the hospital.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 
• Schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week totaling 36 hours 
• Work every other weekend as part of rotation 
• Patient ratio of 1:6 
• Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience required 
• Telemetry experience beneficial but not required 
• Unit includes 24 MS/tele beds with basic monitoring for pacemakers and potassium levels 
• May float to other Med Surg units within scope of practice 
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (ACLS and NIHSS can be obtained during placement process if needed) 
• Charting system: MEDITECH (experience highly preferred) 
• Medication system: McKesson 
• Scrub color requirement: Royal blue (not provided by facility) 
• Hospital may call off 1 shift for every 4 weeks worked (rarely used) 
• 13-week assignment starting February 24th 
• Must secure own housing as affordable housing options are limited in the area

<h2>Job Description</h2>
 American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg night shift position requiring a MO or compact license and flexibility to work every other weekend.
 
 <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
 <ul><li>Work in an acute care Med Surg unit with 39 beds</li><li>Patient population includes medical-surgical cases with some telemetry monitoring, mostly pacemakers and electrolyte monitoring</li><li>Patient ratio is typically 1:6</li><li>Night shifts, 12 hours (7p-7a), with every other weekend required</li><li>Assignment length is 13 weeks</li><li>First to float to other Med Surg units within the traveler's scope</li><li>Uses Meditech EMR and McKesson medication system; experience with Meditech highly preferred</li><li>Must wear royal blue scrubs, which are not provided</li><li>Hospital may call off 1 shift per 4 weeks worked, although this is rare</li><li>Finding affordable housing is the responsibility of the traveler</li><li>Unit does not accept acutely cardiac patients but does handle patients with pacemakers and needs for telemetry monitoring</li></ul>
 
 <h2>Requirements</h2>
 <ul><li>Active MO or compact RN license required</li><li>Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required (ACLS and NIHSS may be obtained during placement process)</li><li>PALS certification required</li><li>At least 2 years of Med Surg RN experience required</li><li>Basic telemetry experience is a plus but not mandatory</li></ul>
