Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street

I started at the hospital as a travel nurse. I was offered a huge sign on bonus for a 1 year commitment. It was too good to pass up and I figured that I could “suck it up” for a year. Especially since I was offered a decent hourly rate and all of the travel rates were dropping to about 1/3 of what was previously offered. We all got spoiled (by way of bank acct deposits) during Covid. Without exaggeration, 90-95% of the time it is a 1:9 staff to pt ratio. And that is on a floor primarily receiving critical and step-down acuity patients. Management blatantly will lie to travelers and new employees to get them in the door. They lie through their teeth and never back the nurses. They will throw anyone and everyone under the bus to cover their own arse. I’ve seen so much in my combined traveler-staff 1.5 year within that facility. Trust no one and get it ALL in writing if you choose to take the plunge and give this location a whirl.
