I worked in surgery. I can say that the staff and Nurse managers are amazing people! The director of surgical services is also over just about all specialty services and seems to have unrealistic expectations. She doesn’t make any effort to even acknowledge her own staff by name. It’s quite unfortunate because this team busts their butts daily with little to no appreciation from admin. Surgery is where a hospital’s bread is buttered. These people deserve AT LEAST a good morning! I found her nothing less than pompous and rude!

As OB we have to float a lot if our census is low. I floated 8 of my first 12 shifts

It was a dangerous environment , the nurses were over worked and making mistakes that cost people lives . I’ve seen more people die here than any other assignment
