      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Labor &amp; Delivery position in an acute care OB unit with at least 2 years of relevant experience and a current IL RN license.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in an acute care OB unit with 3 labor &amp; delivery rooms, 1 OB-specific OR, 4 triage beds, and 7 postpartum beds</li><li>Serve a diverse patient population including laboring and postpartum mothers, and newborns</li><li>Assignment involves labor, delivery, newborn nursery, and postpartum care</li><li>12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with a flexible schedule</li><li>Required to work 2 weekends per month and cover holidays as needed</li><li>May float to assist other departments as required</li><li>No on-call requirements for travelers</li><li>Charting is completed in Cerner; RNs are responsible for reading fetal strips via Cerner (EFM system)</li><li>Respiratory support equipment available including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP</li><li>Unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines</li><li>OB unit averages 300 births per year with common diagnoses including preeclampsia, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, fetal growth restriction, and large for gestational age</li><li>Support from charge nurse and house supervisor; no 24/7 in-house OB/Neonatologist</li><li>Scrubs are provided; dress code requires black shoes, black pants, and a purple scrub top</li><li>Unit-specific onboarding is provided upon start</li></ul>
          
      <h2>Requirements</h2>
      <ul><li>Current and active IL RN license</li><li>Minimum 2 years of recent OB nursing experience</li><li>Certifications required: BLS and NRP</li><li>Experience titrating magnesium sulfate and Pitocin</li><li>Competence in labor, newborn nursery, and postpartum care</li></ul>

            <ul><li>Work in a hospital-based acute rehab services department</li><li>Care settings include inpatient, swing-bed, assisted living, and outpatient</li><li>Patient caseload is highly variable based on census and scheduling</li><li>Common cases include general medical, CVA, hip fractures, post-op THR/TKR, orthopedic injuries, developmental delay, and sensory issues</li><li>Pediatric patients are seen in the outpatient setting</li><li>Expected case mix: 40% acute, 40% outpatient, 10% assisted living, 10% swing bed (all variable)</li><li>8-hour day shifts with flexible scheduling options including 4x10 or 5x8 shifts</li><li>No weekend or holiday coverage currently required</li><li>Cerner Millennium is used for documentation</li><li>Role involves providing evaluation and treatment across all patient areas as a generalist</li><li>Support from 2 COTAs and a collaborative rehab team</li><li>Department-specific orientation provided at start</li><li>Dress code requires black scrubs or black collared shirt and khaki pants</li></ul>
