The management at UCH Aurora is notorious for the horrible management, specially with the manager and director. There have been multiple mass exoduses of RTs since 2020, with management constantly pointing the finger at staff vs looking inward. Tons of gaslighting and toxic behaviors. Management also will pin staff against each other to continue to elevate the drama.

Med Surg

This ED is technically a level 1 trauma center, but functions more like a 2. 20-something bed ED, but can easily flex to 30’s with hall beds, internally lobbies, and creative use of space. Strict 4:1 ratio, usually 3:1 in most zones. Quite a lot of ancillary staff provided, and float nurses available most often. Very experienced nurses, with inflated egos, but will play nicely if you have a good attitude and want to learn & be challenged. Much lower acuity than Denver metro trauma centers. Physician group is excellent, with very reasonable and collaborative practices. Travelers do not see traumas usually at this facility.

Big Egos, but overall great place to work.
