It's a level 1 trauma hospital. High ratio of pt/nurse. The payment does not match with the workload. Management is fine and encouraging. Charge nurses are supportive. It's a good place for new grads to learn, but not good enough to stay.

This place is very messy and unorganized. The supervisor is two faced and is ALWAYS in a bad mood. The pay is subpar unless tou go thru the agency.

Very cliquey.  Travelers are treated like new nurses, regardless of years of experience.  We were routinely given 3 step down patients while select staff was given 1 ICU patient.  If an admission was coming we gave up one of our patients so we could admit and stay at 3 patients.  The manager was unresponsive to text and phone calls.  The environment was like a cheer camp instead of a hospital, totally unprofessional.

Mean girls club

MICU at MCP is great but mgmnt makes your life terrible. The staff is amazing and help you with everything, but the night shift CNCs, manager, and ICU director do not know how to run a unit and are clueless if you ask them questions. I am only leaving this position due to management, but the staff culture at night is amazing! I’ll miss the people but management really made a spectacular unit terrible.
