Free parking is a plus. Free food…would be a plus if the regular staff didn’t take enough for 4 people. The work is not difficult but they expect you to do the job without the proper equipment…supplies & meds. The turn over rate for OR managers here is HIGH. They went through 3 during the first 2 months I was there. The 3rd resigned (she said) because they didn’t honor her pay. I can’t verify that. They will schedule you for an 8 hour shift but tell you “thank you & you can go home” after 4 hours. The meds may be available if they pay the vendor. They’ll say they’re on ‘back order’ when they’re not. They’ll expect you to start a case without the meds & it’s up to you to deal with the surgeon. These are eye meds which are very specific to eye surgery. Just not right for the patient. And they will put the blame on you. Be ready.

Current certification in Basic Life Support.Experience / Knowledge / Skills:<ul><li>One (1) year of experience preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated ability and willingness to mentor/train staff or supervise clinical interns.</li><li>Provides clinical leadership and demonstrative expertise for a particular patient type/group or enhances an existing clinical program for that particular patient type/group.</li><li>Serves as a clinical resource for hospital and/or system or departmental committee/task force or initiates and/or provides leadership in an ongoing departmental interest/study group.</li><li>Designs and implements original staff development program which facilitates the clinical competencies of other staff members.</li><li>The position requires occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping and squatting.</li><li>Fine hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, the ability to receive oral and written communication, and to communicate verbally and in writing are also necessary.</li><li>The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors and observe physical characteristics are essential to this position.</li><li>Ability to commit to elected commitment schedule, with flexibility in scheduling and in moving within patient care areas when necessary.</li></ul>
