There is an extremely toxic culture here. No support from PCNA’s-not held to account by management. Metro is transitioning to LPN’s to fill RN roles at a very rapid pace. their new model is to pair an RN with an LPN to take a patient load of 8 plus patients in Med/Surg and other areas of acute in patient care. LPN’s coming in have extremely varying levels of competence.  Along with RN’s having to be reasource to travel staff, management also expects the RN’s on the floor to skill up or train up the LPN’s to a level that they can care for patients. It is dangerous, providing low quality care to an already underserved patient population.

Job Details:
• Care for critically ill patients in Cardiac Cath Lab undergoing Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular procedures 
• Assigned STEMI call responsibilities with 30-minute response time requirement 
• Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care 
• Monitor and provide sedation management for patients 
• Operate advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment including IABP and IMPELLA 
• Manage ventilator settings and patient care 
• Must have Cath Lab experience as mandatory qualification 
• Required certifications: Valid Ohio RN license, ACLS and BLS from American Heart Association only 
• Physical demands include ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently with potential for extended standing periods 
• Must be able to lift 250-300 lbs with assistance and push/pull up to 500 lbs with assistance 
• Work environment involves exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, chemicals, and cleaning products 
• Utilize electronic systems including EPIC, XPER, and Change Health Care applications

 <ul><li>Work in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab setting</li><li>Care for critically ill patients undergoing interventional cardiology and endovascular procedures</li><li>Assigned shifts may include 0630-1700, 0700-1700, or 0800-1800, with holidays and on-call shifts determined by unit rotation</li><li>On-call duty includes STEMI response with a required 30-minute callback and minimum of 4 hours per event</li><li>Proficiency with EPIC, XPER, and Change Healthcare EMR systems is required</li><li>Must manage preoperative and postoperative patient care, including ventilator management</li><li>Primary responsibilities include caring for cardiac patients during interventional and endovascular procedures</li><li>Must participate in unit’s on-call rotation and respond to STEMI cases within 30 minutes</li><li>Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, chemicals, and cleaning agents may occur</li><li>Holiday shift coverage is assigned according to unit rotation</li><li>No COVID-19 vaccination requirement specified</li></ul>
