If you work here be prepared to float every four hours and be given unsafe patient ratios. The hospital is mostly travelers and management does not care about you whatsoever. Positives are they have a very organized onboarding process and a brand new beautiful tower where half of their units are.

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced Stepdown RN with strong cardiac and post-op CABG/valve skills for a telemetry-focused night shift assignment.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a 36-bed stepdown unit specializing in pre- and post-op open heart management and advanced cardiac care</li><li>Patient population includes CABG, valve, mitral clip, TAVR, thoracotomy, and lung cases such as pneumothorax and hemothorax</li><li>Continuous telemetry monitoring of advanced care cardiac patients</li><li>Targeted nurse-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6</li><li>Epic EMR experience required</li><li>Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30</li><li>Required to work every other weekend and holiday</li><li>Floating may occur within specialty clusters and to multiple hospital campus locations within 15 miles</li><li>Travelers are assigned as first to float per facility needs</li><li>Responsibilities include care of post-op cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, chest tube and cardiac drip management</li><li>Will be fitted for N95 mask unless PAPR is issued or required</li><li>Navy blue scrubs required</li><li>All RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application and are subject to manager approval</li><li>First-time travelers are considered, with travel experience preferred</li><li>Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible</li></ul>

      <ul><li>Active OH or compact RN license</li><li>BLS and ACLS certifications required</li><li>IV start, NIHSS, and cardiac drip titration skills required</li><li>Minimum 1.5 years recent SD or PCU stepdown experience with post-op CABG and valve care</li><li>Documented experience in a 1:5 nurse-patient ratio required; ICU-only experience does not qualify</li><li>Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment before starting</li><li>Ability to read and interpret EKG/telemetry strips</li></ul>

      <p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Telemetry position requiring vent and Epic experience, night shifts, and prior SD/PCU experience.</p>
      
            <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
            <ul><li>Work in a hospital Stepdown unit caring for patients with telemetry needs</li><li>Patient population includes COPD, CHF, pneumonia, flu, sepsis, DKA, and post-Covid cases</li><li>Experience with vents, trach care, bipap, and high-oxygen requirements required</li><li>Drips include insulin, heparin, Cardizem, and occasional other drips; no orally intubated patients</li><li>Team nursing model in trial with two RNs and one PCT assigned per group of patients</li><li>Target patient ratios are 1:4 but may reach up to 1:5-6</li><li>Night shifts (4x12 hours), 19:00–07:30</li><li>Floating required to main campus and nearby sites within 15 miles as needed</li><li>Required to work every other weekend and holiday</li><li>EMR system is Epic and experience is required</li><li>Will work collaboratively with a team including another RN and a PCT under current team nursing trial</li><li>Supportive environment with Respiratory Therapy available for complex cases</li><li>Navy blue scrubs required</li><li>Modules and orientation to be completed during onboarding</li><li>Must request all desired RTO (up to 14 days) at time of submittal; no additional RTO will be granted after offer</li><li>First-time travelers will be considered</li><li>Holiday and weekend coverage is mandatory per schedule</li><li>Some shifts may be canceled due to census at facility discretion</li></ul>
          
      <h2>Requirements</h2>
      <ul><li>Active OH or compact RN license required</li><li>Minimum 1.5 years of recent Stepdown or PCU nursing experience required; ICU experience does not substitute</li><li>Recent 1:5 ratio Stepdown or PCU nursing experience must be evident in work history</li><li>BLS and ACLS certifications required</li><li>Must have recent ventilator experience</li><li>Experience with telemetry and the ability to read and interpret EKG strips required</li><li>Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to start</li><li>N95 fit testing required before working on HRRU unit unless PAPR is used</li><li>Travel experience preferred</li><li>No prior license action permitted</li><li>Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local RNs not accepted</li></ul>
