Morton Plant, or any Baycare facility is definitely top rated for a reason when it comes to patient care. Unfortunately, post Covid, they chose prioritize profit over equal compensation and safety. They acknowledge the rising cost of living in Pinellas county, but instead of offering real solutions and giving pay raises to meet inflation, they sent out a mass email with links to affordable housing websites (most of which we won’t qualify because we make too much for state run programs). They’ve canceled travel contracts, despite being short staffed, and ratios on a cardiac PCU have climbed to 5-6 on average.

The “mean girls” reputation that this department has is real…. I’d you don’t get along with them, they will make your work life hell until you quit. I’ve seen them run off 3 techs in my time at this hospital. 2 staff techs and 1 traveler.

 American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of recent cardiac catheterization and advanced interventional procedure experience.
 
 <h2>Responsibilities</h2>
 <ul><li>Work in a short-term acute care teaching hospital setting</li><li>Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts, variable start and end times between 07:00-17:30/19:00</li><li>Weekend shifts are required</li><li>On-call required, typically 1 weekend on-call shift every 4 weeks and 7-9 on-call shifts per month</li><li>No floating to other units or sister facilities</li><li>Patient population includes adults with diagnoses such as chest pain, NSTEMI, STEMI, valve disease, and pulmonary hypertension</li><li>Procedures include left and right heart catheterizations, complex PCI, thrombectomy, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, Impella insertion, Rotablader procedures, and carotid stenting</li><li>Uses Cerner EMR with experience preferred</li><li>First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment</li><li>No RTO allowed in the contract; requests for time off may be discussed during interview if applicable</li><li>Red scrubs are required in this department</li><li>Parking is provided at no cost</li></ul>
