Great teamwork, manager Matt & Assistant Manager Kari will take care of you and work with you in scheduling & any other issues. Pay is pretty good for the southeast, but it’s probably never going to be the highest paying job in the greater ATL region.

A review of NGHS is subjective to each nurses POV. Some people can tolerate the experience just fine, others can’t. Typically, the pay is higher here than at other hospitals in Georgia. The drawback is, they WILL make you work for it. They do team Nursing here (1:6 solo RN, 1:8 RN & LPN.) They have staffing issues often, so they will try to stretch the ratio to 1:10 sometimes. The staffing issues are a demon of their own making because they prioritize their bottom line & census over safety & staff satisfaction. But that happens at any hospital. Policies are often ignored by leadership if the ends justify the means, but again… this happens anywhere USA. Overall, it’s not the worst place to work and it does have its challenges… but the compensation normally makes it tolerable.

I worked at this facility for 6 years. Started my nursing career here, as a matter of fact. Talk about cliquish! They are the reason why I started traveling, besides the pay. This is the most cliquish group of healthcare professionals I have ever worked with! If you're not in their group, your either ignored or condescended to. And thus far, I've worked in NC and TN! People are more friendly to me, as a traveler, than at this hsopital (my home hospital)! It's ridiculous! They pay is competitive, but I feel they're cheapskates. You've definitely got to have tough skin, to work here. Even more so than usual. If you're good at brown-nosing, you'll be better off, here. Smh... Personally, I don't enjoy working places where that is a job requirement.

An "ok" place to work.

As a travel nurse, the hospital is a great place to work. For the most part the staff is great except for STICU, CCU, and MICU. The doctors are nice. This is a teaching hospital, so you will have to put up with residents, so you know how that goes. The nurses in those units are difficult to work with and have more attitude than necessary. Avoid those units and probably end extending your contract as long as you can.

Management went down hill quickly. Pretty toxic depending on who the charge is.

Staff was extremely rude. Very hard work environment. Staff treats new people horribly. Started with five other travelers and most left early and did not renew.

I was hired for intensive care unit, however once I got there was told I would be working in the CHU or MICU departments due to the facility not being able to hire permanent staff or travelers to sign for these units. 
Was a typical bait and switch.

I was always floated to MICU or the CHU - congntive behavioral care unit.  I was told they could not get permanent staff or travels to work these units so travelers were always floated to these units. A bait and switch.

Toxic culture and environment. Unsafe practices and inappropriate behavior from coworkers.

I was a traveler , I got let go because a NP didn’t like the way I answered her questions that had nothing to do with me ( the tech ) and you have 40
