The culture on some units is not as good as it could be. Self scheduling is an option (aside from scheduled holidays and occasionally movement of staff to balance the unit). I feel like lately pay is fairly competitive for the area. Ratios are also similar for the area but as we all know patients seem to be getting sicker and ratios do not reflect that.
