The floor I worked(3south) on was definitely heavy. ￼primarily agency on the floor at the time. 1:6 on nights. The only positive about that floor was that it was 3 a to 3P and 3P to 3A. Supplies available. Usually short on ancillary staff for nights. Management poor.

Most shifts there are no CNA's or Techs and when they are there they do not get vital signs nor blood glucose readings and are supported by management in NOT doing it.  Mgmt states that nurses should get their own because techs can't get "all of those vital signs and blood sugars, but they will answer call lights".  Good luck with that, too.  So when they are floated to a unit with low census and there are only 8-10 patients and you  ask them what your patient's blood pressure was, they respond with "Oh, you want me to get vitals?  We usually dont do that.  Which patient?"  I responded, "ALL OF THEM!!!  THERE'S ONLY EIGHT PATIENTS!!!"

I was hired as an ICU flex, but after about 2 years, I lost popularity with the wrong "senior RNs," and I stopped getting ICU assignments.  I was then assigned to med surg units with 1:6 nurse /pt ratios  and often moved every  4 hrs.  So, at the end of the day, it was not uncommon to be charting on 20 patients.
Eventually, the hospital found enough charting errors to terminate me
I wouldn't recommend this facility.  There's a lot of jealousy towards contract nurses

Treated like dirt

This hospital is absolutely the worst place I’ve ever worked. The nurses are SO stuck up and hate travel nurses. One of them hated me so much she told the house supervisor I was stealing zofran and they believed her. Even though there’s cameras. EVERYWHERE. I was fired and escorted out. It went all the way to the attorney general and I had to get my own lawyer to defend my license. I beat it and they still DNRd me. At every Parkview. I am simply a mother and a caring nurse only trying to provide exceptional care, and somehow it turned into a 4000 dollar lawyer and losing EVERYTHING I HAD. My house, my car, my self-worth.
