Pros
The most amazing patients and providers! Most of the staff is absolutely awesome! A small community that pulls together and is Texas Strong!
Cons
The Director of OB (Not an OB Nurse) is your backup when the department is staffing challenged and that is a safety concern. The director is passive aggressive and your overtime and in general your basic schedule is dependent upon the politics of who you are not on your training or skills. The department itself has the potential to be amazing under ACOG/AWHONN evidence based staffing and a qualified, competent, unbiased director. The hospital and providers are wonderful!

Pros
Unit Director is nice however she does not have any labor and delivery experience.
Cons
Charting system and fetal monitoring system are antiquated. Processes are not safe or not in place at all. Not always staffed with two OB nurses and your backup may be the unit Director, who has no OB experience.
