<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 5x8hrs</li><li>Hours: 40 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: May 18, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3>American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an outpatient position in Valdez, AK, with a largely pediatric focus across outpatient, inpatient, and long-term care settings.<h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Outpatient department serving a pediatric-focused population, with responsibilities extending across inpatient, swing bed, long-term care (LTC), and outpatient settings</li><li>4x10 day shift schedule; block schedule accommodations available</li><li>No on-call or floating requirements within the unit</li><li>Epic EMR required</li><li>Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Current, active OT license required (license required if applicable)</li><li>Minimum 1 year of OT experience required</li><li>Current BLS certification required</li><li>Experience with acute disorders, chronic disorders, functional activities, standardized assessments, developmental testing/treatment, and mental health/intellectual disability populations required</li><li>Proficiency in Epic EMR required</li><li>Prior pediatric and inpatient OT experience preferred</li><li>Experience with outpatient, acute care, and LTC/SNF settings preferred</li><li>Skills in national patient safety goals/core measures, billing, feeding techniques (oral/motor), and disability sequence testing preferred</li><li>Ability to transition between inpatient, outpatient, and LTC settings required</li><li>Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration</li><li>SSN and date of birth required for consideration</li><li>Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance (including rental car coverage) required prior to operating facility-provided vehicle</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>First-time travelers are not eligible for this position</li><li>Former permanent staff of any Providence facility must be separated for at least 3 months before working as a traveler</li><li>Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility</li><li>Time off requests are approved on an individual basis and should be discussed at the time of offer; minimal RTO is strongly preferred</li><li>Facility provides housing (typically a 1-bedroom apartment) and a shared-use vehicle for the duration of the assignment</li><li>Housing is available no earlier than 72 hours before contract start and must be vacated within 24 hours of contract end; housing must be cleaned upon departure or additional cleaning fees apply</li><li>Pets are not permitted in facility-provided housing; accommodating additional family members is uncommon and requires facility approval</li><li>Facility-provided vehicle is for local use only (within 30 miles of facility) and may not be taken off-road; vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas</li><li>Only the traveler is authorized to operate the facility-provided vehicle; vehicle must be turned in during any time off periods</li><li>All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination</li></ul>
