<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Jul 13, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor &amp; Delivery RN for a night shift travel contract in Colorado, requiring a minimum of 4 years of obstetrics experience and an active CO or compact RN license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Labor &amp; Delivery (L&amp;D) unit within a hospital-based birth center setting</li><li>Patient population includes women in labor, postpartum patients, and newborns</li><li>Responsibilities span the full continuum of maternal-newborn care including labor, delivery, postpartum, and infant care</li><li>Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM</li><li>36 hours per week</li><li>May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs</li><li>13-week contract</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand</li><li>Current BLS/BCLS certification required</li><li>NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required within one year of employment</li><li>ACLS certification required within one year of employment</li><li>Minimum 4 years of obstetrics nursing experience</li><li>RN degree required</li><li>Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods</li><li>Possible exposure to blood and body fluids, infectious diseases, and other occupational hazards</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Responsibilities include performing labor assessments, monitoring labor progress, assisting with C-sections and inductions, and maintaining thorough documentation</li><li>Administers IV medications and provides care during labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, including patient education</li><li>Prepares the delivery room, provides emotional support to patients and families, and coordinates patient transfers as needed</li><li>Adheres to infection control principles and sterile technique protocols</li><li>Reports directly to the Birth Center Manager</li><li>Must be able to perform effectively in high-stress situations and communicate well with a diverse patient and staff population</li></ul>
