Worked 2 back-to-back 13 week contracts at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
Overall, staff was great, supportive, and drama-free. I was floated at least once a week but felt supported in all the areas I was floated to. The area the hospital is in is a rough neighborhood and some of the patients are “rough around the edges”. Staffing was adequate most of the time, never had more than 5 patients on telemetry floor. 


The only issue I had was being asked to float to ICU at least 6 times with no experience in that area at all. I declined to go and this was accommodated. Eventually had to bring it up with my recruiter and was no longer asked to work ICU.

There’s a lot of workplace drama here, especially on day shift. The facility is very traveler friendly and the night shift team is great about helping you when you get in a bind. The manager is great about putting all your shifts together. This is a 590 bed facility and they run anywhere from 5-7 therapists. The workload is manageable most of the time. The facility is in a rough part of town but it hasn’t caused any issue for me. I like it here but chose not to extend due to compensation.

I went to this HCA facility via healthtrust....talk about the worst of both worlds.  Healthtrust is so unprofessional its actually hillarious...and if you are going to RMC make sure they pay you WELL!
