The team made it
I worked on a floor where the majority of the staff were travelers. It was a super fun team. The manager was good to work for. The only downside was there was midshift float. I worked night shift and in the middle of winter during a snowstorm you could get floated to another hospital. I would only recommend to put in your contract no midshift float.
3rd Shift-Sanford South Ortho and Eyes
Fargo is way better than you think, and if you drive here and want to work on your off days, the Uber business is incredible! Sanford has been one of the best places I've ever worked...over names like Mayo Clinic and Steris by far. However, it's still sterile processing. South is the red-headed step-child of the 3 in this area (West/SMCF and Broadway being the other 2) when it comes to funding/facilities/Staffing. The manager at South is great but she's drowning and doesn't seem to have the resources the others do. The cultures of 1st and 2nd shift are ones I would not choose to work in from what I've seen; but 3rd shift has been great. Hard, busy work pretty much constantly and the permanent staff is great on 3rd. They're moving into a mobile unit now to do some MUCH needed work, and apparently in April '24 they'll have a brand new department which will be nice. Overall, I do recommend this assignment as I just started my renewal. The other Travelers on my shift and I have all said that as far as assignments go, this is as good as it gets. I also highly recommend 3rd shift at SMCF/West!
