Worked in the ED Boarding/overflow & CDU. All the ED nurses were super friendly to travelers and made sure we had what we needed and knew how to access our resources. Free charge, usually a tech for 9 patients. 1:4 for stepdown, 1:5 for med surg. Stepdown rooms were equipped with wall monitors. The managers in the ER were always floating around on the floor helping out. The only downside was working in the ER, sometimes you would get assigned to the CD area which is just essentially 5 hallway beds crammed in the back of the ER with about 3 feet of space and a curtain between each bed. The CDU was nice, run well, free charge, usually 2 CNAs for 16 patients.

I have enjoyed my time with Shannon Medical Center. Working weekend mid shifts have been great. It has been a good team that treats me like any of the other techs on shift. They are slowly updating equipment, which has been the biggest holdback from a higher review but I still enjoy coming to work it is just a little harder when older equipment goes down more often but should be rectified as they have a lot of new equipment coming. If I wasn't coming up on a full year, I would extend again. I can not vouch for all other shifts during the days, but the weekend group has been awesome to me.
