The ideal candidate will have strong PCU/Telemetry experience and be comfortable managing cardiac patients in a fast-paced progressive-care environment.</p><h3> </h3><h3>MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:</h3><ul><li><strong>2+ years of recent PCU/Telemetry RN experience</strong></li><li><strong>ACLS and BLS required</strong></li><li>Must be willing to <strong>float</strong></li><li><strong>Epic experience within the last 12 months</strong><ul><li>Must be clearly listed on the resume</li></ul></li><li>Nursing degree from an <strong>ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program</strong></li><li>Must be proficient in:<ul><li><strong>Heparin drips</strong></li><li><strong>Blood product administration</strong></li><li><strong>EKG interpretation</strong></li><li>Recognizing and responding to <strong>cardiac rhythm changes</strong></li></ul></li><li>Recent experience <strong>drawing blood/phlebotomy</strong></li><li>Experience <strong>starting and maintaining IVs</strong></li><li><strong>Solid black scrubs required</strong></li></ul><h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac PCU/Telemetry patients.</li><li>Care for patients with <strong>CHF and other progressive-care cardiac conditions</strong>.</li><li>Perform ongoing patient assessments and cardiac monitoring.</li><li>Interpret EKGs and recognize significant rhythm changes.</li><li>Manage and monitor <strong>heparin drips</strong> according to orders and facility protocols.</li><li>Administer and monitor <strong>blood products</strong> safely.</li><li>Perform blood draws and phlebotomy.</li><li>Start, maintain, and monitor IV access.</li><li>Administer medications and treatments.</li><li>Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including Epic documentation.</li><li>Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.</li><li>Float to other units as required.</li></ul><h3>RTO &amp; Scheduling Requirements:</h3><ul><li><strong>RTO must be provided at the time of submission</strong></li><li>Maximum <strong>7 days of RTO</strong> accepted</li><li>Candidates with more than 7 days of RTO will be <strong>automatically rejected</strong></li><li><strong>No RTO during the first two weeks</strong> of the assignment</li><li><strong>No block-scheduling requests</strong> will be accepted</li></ul><h3>Critical Resume Requirements:</h3><p><strong>Epic experience within the last 12 months must be clearly documented on the resume. Forge St., Akron, OH 44304<br /><strong>Setting:</strong> Adult Acute Care – Level 1 Trauma Center<br /><strong>Shift:</strong> Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM</p><h3> </h3><h3>Position Overview:</h3><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)</strong> to provide respiratory care services in an <strong>all-adult, acute-care Level 1 Trauma Center</strong>. The therapist will assess patients, administer respiratory treatments, manage respiratory equipment, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.</p><h3> </h3><h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Verify physician orders, assess patients, and determine the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies.</li><li>Monitor and document patient tolerance, response to treatment, and changes in respiratory status.</li><li>Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures according to department policies and established protocols.</li><li>Administer medical gases and respiratory medications as ordered.</li><li>Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.</li><li>Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation/Code situations.</li><li>Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory treatments and address questions or concerns.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and complete billing information for services provided.</li><li>Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary patient-care teams to support positive patient outcomes.</li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, in-services, meetings, and professional development activities.</li><li>Maintain proficiency in respiratory care techniques, equipment, and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.</li></ul><h3>Required Experience &amp; Qualifications</h3><ul><li><strong>RRT preferred.</strong></li><li><strong>CRT candidates may be considered</strong> if Registry Eligible and they have appropriate respiratory care experience.</li><li>Previous <strong>adult acute-care hospital experience</strong> required.</li><li>Level 1 Trauma Center or high-acuity acute-care experience preferred.</li><li>Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and respiratory treatment procedures.</li><li>Ability to respond effectively to emergency and critical-care situations.</li></ul><h3>Primary Equipment:</h3><ul><li>PB 980 Ventilator</li><li>PB 840 Ventilator</li><li>V60 Non-Invasive Ventilator</li><li>EPOC Handheld Analyzer</li><li>ParaPacPlus Transport Ventilator</li></ul><h3>Additional Requirements:</h3><ul><li><strong>Interview Required</strong></li><li><strong>RTO:</strong> Maximum of <strong>7 days</strong>.
