I loved the people and the facility. My only complaint was that I got floated to other units majority of the shifts. I am primarily a Labor and Delivery nurse, and ended up on postpartum or antepartum where I didn’t have as much skill or knowledge. I felt like I was doing a disservice to my patients. When I made a complaint to the manager, the reason I was floated so often was because I was a travel nurse and travelers get floated where they are needed. It was frustrating not getting to work in the specialty that I am skilled in.

The staff is amazing and hardworking as a team  . But like everywhere it’s severely understaffed. Mostly travelers are running this hospital. Also be prepared they’re some nights where you won’t have a tech or just one. Also some nights you’ll go without a charge. Another thing the ED will bring patients up and won’t give report or won’t even let you know they brought them up and left them there.

Upper management is very comfortable stretching assignments in unsafe ways. It is common to be tripled in the ICU, and floor nurses have been known to take 8 patients

Very Toxic Work Environment…Most Doctors were rude but a few were good to work with…90% travel staff in CVOR …Pay was Very Good but they were dropping all pay rates for Nurses and Techs ..The few staff FTE were rude and not helpful

They will put your patients at the far end of every hall. Because you are a traveler, you will be given the worst patients. You WILL be pulled to a different unit every night. Staff will not help you, in fact they will sit and laugh and talk and make fun of you while you drown. Very unsafe assignments, always at least 6 patients even if half of them are confused, fall risks with no sitter. They will give every other nurse in that unit all the established patients and leave you open for 2 admissions which will come back to back. It is the worst assignment I have ever worked in my entire nursing career and I wouldn’t go back for all the money in the world.

Short staffed, 1:5 ratio ALWAYS even with ICU patients. Would not recommend.

So many lazy people here. If you half way know what you’re doing you’re going to be pulled in every direction doing all the work. They open every room with no extra staff to help or give lunches. Good luck getting a lunch before 130/200. They run you to death till around 2-3p then send you home. Doctors are pretty cool if you half way know what you’re doing but they’re tired of the turnover rate so takes a minute for them to come around. Would not recommend unless you’re lazy then this is your place!
