Great hospital and staff. I really enjoyed working there as a travel nurse. I am ICU and all their ICU units are great to work on. As a travel nurse they do send you to other units to work if they need it.

Only negative thing was being in a massive float pool which I wasn’t told about until my arrival on contract. However, a unit decided to keep me 1 month into floating there and then I was able to mainly go only there for the next 9 months! Then I loved it!

I enjoyed Shands South Tower.  It is a teaching facility and level 1 trauma hospital.  The patient population is mostly critical.  Staff and management are very supportive.  It was a great learning experience for me.  I learned to circulate transplants and received extra training in robotics.  Supplies are well organized and rooms are spacious.  

 Allow an additional 9 minutes to your daily commute because the parking deck for travelers is not close by.  A bus is available.  I always walked.  Also, travelers are not exempt from flu shots.
