* Reviews daily abuse reports to the Florida Hotline to determine the mandatory referrals for the Department of Children and Families to consult with CPT, per state statute. Determines situations requiring a medical examination or further testing/ hospital services/record reviews and in conjunction with supervisors and medical director.
* Provides diagnostic evaluations and medical consultations regarding abused and neglected children under the direction of the Medical Director. Takes patient histories, conducts physical examinations, and records the data in the patient's record; writes progress notes and narrative discharge summaries; prepares patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Prepares medical reports.
* Works in conjunction with CPT satellite offices (via Telemedicine) as the medical provider on record. Assists with providing services to children within their residential county vs. traveling to Daytona if it is determined to be the appropriate medical service for the child.
* Consults with Case Coordinators, Program Coordinators and participates in Case Reviews and Team Staffing's.
