1:4 or 5 pt on med-surg floors with 2-3 aids for day 1-2 aids for night. One thing i do not like is their PCAs are unionized and tgey are not allowed to take more than 6 complete care pt. I think this lost the whole point of teamwork. PCAs and nurses should help each other. Even uf each one has own assignment but should help each other when free. So you’ll see this weird scenario that nurses are busy running like a mad woman while PCAs are sitting there on their phone because they are not coveting that other.
