Pros

Somewhat traveler friendly, just depends on the nurse. Laziness and snarkiness are definitely frowned upon.

Cons

A lot of times the techs are shorthanded, you could easily have half of the unit by yourself as a tech.

Survival Nursing

Worst place I ever worked. Saw manager for MAYBE 5 minutes my whole contract. They should classify this as survival nursing. 1:6 ratio, sometimes only 1 tech for 40 patients. It was not uncommon to get 3 admissions a shift…and there was ALWAYS an admission waiting for you at shift change. Also not uncommon to be assigned 3 confused patients climbing out of bed with 3 full on droplet isolation patients. Felt like my nursing license was in jeopardy every shift.
